This is a two-week project for one of my studio classes in the first half of my sophomore year. This project started with drawing 100 random objects that first popped up in my brain, as an initial brainstorming, and then developed storylines from some of these objects I drew, and made comics. These random objects have certain kinds of relationships whether in their visual shape, function, or the pronunciation of their words, representing my thinking process. When I arranged these objects, I made relationships between some of them when I felt they were funny and gave emotion to them.

From these objects, I developed two comics. One talks about a story of a cat, a cat shocked by an owl. In Chinese, “Owl” is called “Hawk with a cat’s head”. Thus, I am wondering what will happen when a cat meets an owl. Another comic talks about a story of a dog who was bitten by wasps. This idea was originally inspired by a popular video on the internet, a video of a real dog who was bitten by wasps. That dog looks sad. It is poor but cute at the same time, which impressed me a lot.
